Wagh Bakri’s Parag Desai passes away.Wagh Bakri Tea Group’s executive director Parag Desai passed away today, 22 October. According to sources, Desai met with an accident and succumbed to brain injuries.
With over 30 years of business experience, he spearheaded sales, marketing and export departments for the group and was an expert tea taster and evaluator of the group, which has a turnover of Rs. 1500 crores.
Desai was involved in leading industry platforms such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and numerous other international organisations. He was a prolific speaker and a valuable industry voice. He also played a key role in guiding the group to various accolades by implementing innovative marketing, branding and packaging strategies, for which he was recognised by the Ahmedabad Management Association.
Desai also oversaw Wagh Bakri Tea Group’s transition to Tea Lounges, ecommerce and digital, and social media.
