PMI Gujarat Chapter is hosting a conference titled “Crafting Tomorrow’s World: Strategic Project Management for Industry 5.0” on December 16, 2023, at Nirma University. With the second-highest population density globally and a surge in Foreign Direct Investments, the state of Gujarat is experiencing significant industrial growth, and this conference aims to harness human talent in field of project management by bringing them discussions, methods and case studies to ensure success in Industry 5.0.
The inaugural session of PMI Gujarat Chapter’s first conference in Gujarat, a unique blend of Project Management Skills and Emerging Technologies, will be graced by the Honourable Principal Secretary IAS Ms. Mona Khandhar, Principal Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat.
Dr. Sanjay Buch, President of PMI Gujarat Chapter, said that the conference is designed to address challenges posed by Industry 5.0. It aims to prepare professionals in the project management sector to integrate technology, speed, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and human adaptive factors into educational and skill development trainings at various government institutional levels.
Stating that Industry 5.0 is not just an extension of Industry 4.0 but an evolution, Mr. Prerak Shah, Vice President of the Chapter emphasized that Industry 5.0 signifies a comprehensive integration of human expertise and technological innovation. Also advised that this conference is to focus on harmonious coexistence rather than automation alone and the role effective project management can play in striking the right balance.
While providing a briefing about important areas to be discussed in this conference, Conference Director and Vice President – Corporate Relations Mr. Rajit Shah conveyed that to ensure all key elements of Industry 5.0 ecosystem are aptly covered, along with use of smart technologies, it is as much important that climate and natural resources sustainability maintained looping Industries, services & Infrastructure Operators, Government Authorities, Educational and Skill Development bodies, which will be showcased through Keynote and expert Speakers’ sessions and panel discussions by subject experts.
Alignment of the Industry 5.0 ecosystem will be a catalyst for MSME, Research and development and educational centers with strong support from state and national level governments. Conference Coordinator Mr. Mehul Patel highlights the importance of the role of Project Management culture as a bridge between multinational companies and local enterprises. The entire planning of this Conference has been supported by PMI Gujarat Chapter Board and Conference core team, having professionals from different fields that are contributing to the conference as volunteers.
