Hurun Report India and IIFL Wealth unveiled the 2022 edition of ‘IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022’ – a compilation of the richest individuals with a wealth of INR 1,000 Cr or more. Hurun Report India and IIFL Wealth today launched a further analysis of the richest from Gujarat in the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022. Wealth calculations are a snapshot of 30th August 2022.
Speaking about the IIFL Wealth Hurun Gujarat Rich List, Yatin Shah, Co-Founder and Joint CEO, IIFL
Wealth, said, “IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022 is a comprehensive overview of a plethora of
factors that have significantly contributed to the rising wealth of India and we are proud to associate
with the same. Gujarat is reputed as one of the finest states for entrepreneurship in India and financial
awareness along with technology adoption has always been high in Gujarat. Not surprisingly, over 86
individuals hail from Gujarat as part of the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022. Pharma, followed
by Chemicals & Petrochemicals is the second most preferred industry by Gujarat rich-listers followed
by Jewellery sector.” Commenting on the launch, Anas Rahman Junaid, MD and Chief Researcher, Hurun India, said, “17 times in 11 years. The number of entrants in IIFL Wealth Hurun Gujarat Rich List has grown from just under 5 ten years ago to 86 today. The fact that 2 of the global top 10 and 4 of the Indian top 10 are entrepreneurs of Gujarati origin, is a reflection of the entrepreneurial DNA of the Gujarati community.

Top 10 Individuals:
The cut-off for top 10 individuals rose by INR 1,800 Cr to INR 15,300 Cr in 2022 as compared to the
previous year. The state’s topper, Gautam Adani & family, recorded a 116% rise in their wealth
numbers in a year’s period.
