Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) was signed today between the Ahmedabad-based International Centre for Technology and Entrepreneurship (iCreate) and GIFT SEZ to promote innovation and start-ups in the field of Fintech.
iCreate is India’s leading startup incubator and GIFT is India’s first operating International Financial Services Center (IFSC). The MoU aims to create an enabling platform for collaboration between the innovation and startup ecosystem in the area of Fintech. It also aims to set up a ‘Fintech Hub’ at GIFT City, Gandhinagar.
The MoU was signed by Shri Tapan Ray, Director and CEO, GIFT SEZ and Shri Anupam Jalote, CEO, iCreate at GIFT City, Gandhinagar.
Shri Anupam Jalote, CEO, iCreate said, “Fintech is one of the largest verticals within the start-up ecosystem. Proximity to Regulators, Banks, Insurance Companies and other FI (Financial Institutions) are key to a successful Fintech eco-system. GIFT City provides just the right environment for this. With the expertise of iCreate in nurturing start-ups and converting tech into successful businesses, we strongly believe that this collaboration will benefit the entire ecosystem and enable GIFT IFSC to compete strongly with other International Financial Centres”
This MoU is based on a vision to develop the world’s most innovative Fintech Hub which provides Tech and Innovative solutions to create the world’s most competitive International Financial Centre (IFC), to enable next-generation innovation in the field of Fintech, to create a strong fintech ecosystem and to create globally competitive Fintech Companies
