HDFC Bank, India’s leading private sector bank, celebrated Small Scale Industry (SSI) Day by donating 50 tons of waste papers to over 100 recyclers across India to make ecofriendly useful products. This was a unique pan-India activity where all Bank branches worked with Small Scale Industry (SSI) players in their region to achieve the objective of supporting small businesses.
Speaking on the initiative, Sumant Rampal, Group Head, Business Banking and Rural Banking, HDFC Bank, said, “On National Small Industry Day, HDFC Bank joined hands with recyclers across India, contributing 50 tons of wastepaper to fuel eco-friendly products and empower small enterprises nationwide. Together, we aim to nurture sustainable progress and empower India’s local enterprises.”
This initiative was rolled out across India and has helped small recyclers make useful products from 50 tons of wastepaper. Recycling 50 tons of paper has helped save 850 trees, 13,25,000 liters of water and 70,000 liters of oil. On this year’s National Small Industry Day, the HDFC Bank MyBusiness, which provides financial solutions to small businesses partnered with Akkrishyam recyclers from Gujarat, donating and collecting 10 tons of paper.
