Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani marked his presence in the signing of an MOU between Government of Gujarat and Cerestra Managers Private Limited for establishing a global level Gujarat- Special Education Region (G-SER) at Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR).
The MOU were signed by ACS to Chief Minister and Chairman of Dholera Industrial City Development Limited Mr. M.K Das and Managing Partner of Cerestra Mr. Jasmit Chhabra.
DSIR, a flagship project of the state government, is taking shape through various projects like Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway, Dholera International Airport and Bhimnath-Dholera Rail-line.
During the event, the CM said, “Dholera is the first Greenfield Industrial City which is being established to meet the requirements of Industry4.0. The establishment of a Special Education Region will further accelerate its holistic development and make Gujarat a pioneer in a Knowledge Driven Economy.”
The Cerestra Ventures is India’s largest Education Infrastructure Fund. The organisation is based in Hyderabad and focuses on edu-infra, life science real estate etc. It has its offices in Mumbai, Bengaluru and other mega cities as well.
DSIR is spread in an area of 920 sq.mtrs wherein industrial infrastructure and its related eco-systems are being development at the moment. In addition to that, facilities related to health, education and other services are also being developed there.
The G-SER will be developed in an area of 1000 acres. Its area will be expandable up to 5000 acres to house university districts, school districts and innovation districts in addition to accommodation for students, sports complex, etc.
The development of G-SER will also accelerate Gujarat’s development and provide direct and indirect employment to around 1.5 lakh people.
ACS to Chief Minister and Chairman of Dholera Industrial City Development Limited Mr. M.K Das said, “Development models which are beneficial in the socio-economic sphere are being developed under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani. G-SER will be one of the finest education hubs that India would have witnessed.”
Managing Partner of Cerestra Mr. Jasmit Chhabra said, “Cerestra is associated with investments on various platforms in education. The firm is at the forefront in diversifying education infrastructure and building Edu-Infra Trusts in India. An MOU with G-SER is a step towards the same.”
Principal Secretary of Higher and Technical Education Mrs. Anju Sharma, M. D of GIDC Mr. M.Thennarasan, CEO of Dholera Industrial City Development Limited Mr. Hareet Shukla were present during the event.
