CM Rupani inaugurates second phase of “Kisan Suryodaya Yojana

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today inaugurated the second phase of “Kisan Suryodaya Yojana” for 109 villages of Gir Somnath District from Una. “Kisan Suryodaya Yojana” was launched by the then Chief Minister of Gujarat Mr. Narendra Modi in 143 villages of Gir Somnath District on 24th October 2019.

Second phase of “Kisan Suryodaya Yojana” covers 1146 villages of 12 districts and 64 talukas of the state. Earlier in the first phase, 1055 villages of 4 districts were covered under this yojana. In the coming days, the farmer will become more prosperous through Kisan Suryoday0a Yojana, added CM.

Gujarat has emerged out as role model state of the nation. Over the last two decades, Gujarat has proved to be synonymous of development with various projects. Describing the achievement of Jyotigram Yojana on this occasion, the Chief Minister added that Kisan Suryodaya Yojana has been inaugurated auspiciously for the farmers in the beginning of the new year. State Government is always concerned about the water and electricity for the farmers. In the coming days, the farmer will double their income through Kisan Suryoday Yojana. Farmers will now install solar power projects and will produces excess of electricity.

Describing the achievement of the state government on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that since last 3 years, one and a half lakh electric connections have been provided by PGVCL every year.  Earlier congress government did not facilitate with such energy.

The CM proudly said that the previous government had never announced a relief package for farmers. Last year, our government gave a package of Rs. 3700 crores due to heavy rains in the state. The package amount was directly credited into the accounts of farmers in all districts, talukas and villages of Saurashtra.

Highlighting on the demands and sentiments of the farmers to get electricity Mr. Rupani said that, Farmers no longer have to worry about getting electricity during the day time. The farmer will produce more through his own energy generation and the farmer will become more prosperous.

On this occasion CM highlighted about the Land Grabbing Act recently announced to protect the land of farmers and other peoples.

Rupani said that the Drug Control of India has given approval to Corona Vaccine. People will get Vaccine very soon and the slogan given by the Government of “Corona Harse Gujarat Jitse” (Gujarat will Defeat Corona) will prove to be true.

 

Energy Minister Saurabhbhai Patel detailed about the “Kisan Suryodaya Yojana” and other beneficiary schemes implemented for the welfare of the farmers. It costs Rs. 1.60 lakh to provide electricity connection to a farmer. While the government charges only amount of Rs. 10,000 from the farmers and gives a subsidy of Rs. 1.50 lakh per connection. 1800 crores subsidy is being used to provide electric connection every year. Besides this, subsidy of Rs. 7,500 crore is also given to farmers as relief in electricity bills.

Tourism Minister Jawaharbhai Chavda said that the sensitive CM is going to fulfill the demand of farmers phase wise to get electricity during the day time. This is a big achievement.
