The Ahmedabad chapter of Young Indians (Yi), the youth wing of premier industry body Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) marked its 15th Annual Day with the launch of multiple new initiatives on Sunday.
Yi Ahmedabad launched Yi Vibe and Yi Angels, which will promote business and help budding entrepreneurs meet funding requirements, to mark the occasion.
The initiatives were launched in the presence of CII Gujarat State Council Vice Chairman Vinod Agarwal, Yi Western region chair Shrinjay Joshi, Yi Ahmedabad chair Viral Shah, Yi Ahmedabad Co-chair Dhruv Desai, and around 80 members of Yi.
Yi Vibe will focus on business networking within Yi to facilitate business opportunities for its members, and also promote industry learning, relationship building, business exchange, and promote business mentorship.
Yi Angels will tie-up with various incubation centres and help connect startups with CII and Yi members, who will offer funding and guidance to startups, and also mentor them.
“These two initiatives, coupled with existing programmes, will go a long way in promoting business in Gujarat,” said Viral Shah, outgoing chair of Yi Ahmedabad. The annual report of Yi Ahmedabad, which highlights the various initiatives and activities of the chapter during the last year was also released on the occasion.
The formal event was followed by noted stand up comedian and actor Manan Desai entertaining guests with his witty punchlines and jokes. The Annual Day celebrations came to a close with dinner at Courtyard by Marriott at Sindhu Bhavan Road.
Yi provides a platform for young Indians to participate in and contribute to the India growth story. Its members include young progressive Indians in the age group of 21-40, and comprises entrepreneurs, professionals and achievers from different walks of life.
