upGrad to add 30 + Top Global Universities in next 12 months.
Staying true to its commitment of delivering quality transnational education, Asia’s higher EdTech major, upGrad unveil its plans of closing 30+ International University partnerships in the next 12 months.
The brand is on an all-time high by closing 14 international university partnerships in the last 9 months, which includes some of the elite global players like the University of Arizona (which is amongst the Top 1% of 20,000 global universities as per the Center for World University Rankings, one of the Top 100 universities worldwide, and amongst US’ top 40 public universities), Kennesaw State University (among an elite group of only 6 percent of U.S. colleges and universities with an R1 or R2 status), Swiss School of Business Management, University of Frazer Valley, Yorkville University, Deakin University, University of Canberra, James Cook University, International University of Applied Science, CBS International Business School, amongst others.
Commenting on the growth plans, Phalgun Kompalli, Co-founder at upGrad said “We are operating in an era dominated by technology, where there is a stronger demand for quality education in the country. While the academic reputation and exposure to global opportunities are gaining importance, the opportunity cost associated with education remains huge. Therefore, aligned with our clarion call of ‘Fast-Forwarding’ one’s career with upGrad, we are determined to usher in some of the top international universities to offer great opportunities for our learners across the world, thus making the concept of online transnational education affordable & mainstream.”
While the first two months in 2021 saw nearly 72,000 Indians go abroad for their higher studies as per the industry reports, there’s also a significant section where the rising spends on education have formed a huge financial burden on households.
“With the US being the primary focus, we are also looking forward to expanding network in the UK and APAC region as well,” added Phalgun.
upGrad currently enjoys a long-standing relationship with 20 odd international universities, for programs like Data Science, Machine Learning, Global MBA, Management, Law, Business Analytics, Study Abroad, amongst others.
