BITES conducted best Thesis Awards and Special Mention of the Jury Awards to the Ph.D. thesis

3 faculty members from Manipal Institute of Technology received the award for 2019

BITES conducted best Thesis Awards and Special Mention of the Jury Awards to the Ph.D. thesis. With an aim to recognise and honour the outstanding work of the faculties, Board for Information Technology Education Standards (BITES) awarded the Best Thesis Awards and Special Mention of the Jury Awards to the Ph.D thesis.

The awardees were selected among the applications received from the candidates of Karnataka State. The awards for the year 2019 were given at the BITES Best thesis award ceremony held at RNSIT, Bangalore. Three faculty members from Manipal Institute of Technology have received the award for the year 2019.

Dr. Adesh N.D received the Special Mention of the Jury award in the category of Computer Science and Engineering for the thesis titled Design and Implementation of Efficient Techniques for Packet Scheduling and Congestion Control in 4G LTE Networks.

The research work was carried out in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal and the degree was awarded by Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal. He worked under the guidance of Dr. Renuka A., Professor in the Department who also received the Special Mention of the Jury Supervisor award during the Award ceremony.

Dr. Tanweer from Electronics and Communication Engineering Department received the Best Ph.D thesis award for the thesis titled Modeling of Miniaturized Multiband and Metamaterial loaded Frequency Reconfigurable Antennas for Wireless Communication Systems. He worked under the guidance of Dr. Rajashekhar C Biradar. REVA University, Bengaluru and Dr. Jaume Anguera, Fractus Antennas and University at Ramon Llull, Barcelona, Spain.

Dr. Anu Shaju Areeckal received the Special Mention of the Jury award in the category of Electronics and Communication Engineering for the thesis titled Early diagnosis of osteoporosis using metacarpal radiogrammetry and texture analysis.

She worked under the guidance of Dr. Sumam David S., Professor, NITK Surathkal. So far, five faculty members from Manipal Institute of Technology have received the awards.
