Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University on Thursday organised its cultural festival – Swarrnim Health Nexus at Bharat Mata Townhall in Kalol. Shri Hitesh Makwana, the honourable Mayor of Gandhinagar, the state capital of Gujarat, remained present as the chief guest. Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University is the first university in India which is dedicated to nurturing and promoting startups.
The cultural festival saw a slew of events including Solo dance and duet dance performances, drama and skit performances and a fashion show on the theme of ‘The Tradition of India’ which was showcased. Experts in the areas of dance, theatre, fashion, design, art and culture were appointed as judges for these competitive events to evaluate the performance of participants.
Academic Directors of Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University, Dr. Hiren Kadikar and Dr. Kavita Kshatriya along with the Academic Dean of Pharmacy and Agriculture Sciences, Dr. Birendra Shrivastav, Registrar, Dr. Upendra Patel and Deans and Principles of other institutes under the university were present at the opening ceremony.
The event began with the lamp lighting and Saraswati Poojan, by the academicians and the chief guests. Some 850 students along with 110 faculty members of various departments including Arihant Homeopathy Medical college and Research Institute, Arihant Ayurveda Medical college and Research Institute, Venus Institute of Physiotherapy and Aarihant institute of Nursing participated in the event.
As part of the event, the winners, who were truly deserving candidates and participants, were awarded. They took home medals, trophies and certificates in not just academics, but also in sports as well as extracurricular activities at Swarrnim Health Nexus.
Some 35 gold medals, 25 silver medals, 23 bronze medals, 13 trophies and 230 certificates were given away in sports events including Cricket, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Badminton, Table Tennis, among others, in addition to the academic events.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks given by Dr. Rakesh Salve, Director, Ayurved Department, Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University.
